Veterans Agenda for Virginia
As a member of Barack Obama's Veterans Policy Development Team, Mike is well-versed in veterans issues and is committed to fulfilling the sacred contract we have with our veterans and military families. This has been a cornerstone of Mike's campaign from day one. He is endorsed by retired generals and flag officers from all four military services.
Virginia has a proud history of supporting our military. With over 206,000 servicemen and women and 35,000 members of the Reserves and National Guard, our state has one of the highest military populations in the country. Yet we aren't living up to our obligations to these brave men and women. Too many veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other injuries from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan find insufficient rehabilitation programs at the state level. We especially need a strong advocate for the National Guard and Reserves.
